Panoramas are a somewhat challenging photographic format that can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. The much larger dimensions offered by the panorama format needs more compositional care, but if done successfully results can be stunning. Typically, panorama cameras and lenses offer less distortion than wide-angle lenses, and while each have their preferred uses, I find I more-often-than-not prefer using a dedicated panorama camera to a wide angle lens. But, I almost always travel with both.
